HII Mission Technologies Division seeks a current Reserve, Air National Guard or retired/separated U.S. military fighter pilot or systems operator to fill the role of an Instructor/Subject Matter Expert (I/SME) to support the F-15 Combat Air-to-Air Training System (CAATS) program. Provides classroom, academics, and simulator training to U.S. Airforce crew members assigned to the 173rd Fighter Wing, Formal Training Unit (FTU) at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The candidate will need an in-depth knowledge of applicable regulations, procedures, technical orders, and publications as well as aircraft systems to allow them to provide accurate and consistent lesson content across a broad spectrum of training materials. I/SMEs are the focal point for technical content of applicable courseware and coordinate with Courseware for Product Development Schedule (PDS) reviews and revisions of presentation products. #LI-MJ1
What you will do

They are fully qualified to meet the applicable requirements in the Contract and are trained and certified as outlined in the contractors Training Certification Plan. I/SMEs instruct academics as well as for aircrew training devices (ATDs) or simulators. I/SMEs are the focal point for technical content of applicable courseware and coordinate with Courseware for Product Development Schedule (PDS) reviews and revisions of presentation products. Their in-depth knowledge of applicable regulations, procedures, technical orders, and publications. As well as, aircraft systems allow them to provide accurate and consistent lesson content across a broad spectrum of training materials. Their understanding of syllabus flow and lesson content helps streamline training delivered to the 173d FW.

- Provides platform academic instruction for all designated courses listed in current or future F-15 syllabi.
- Provides aircrew training including classroom academics, Aircrew Training Devices (ATD) instruction, and ATD operations for all aircrews.
- Provides ATD console operation and I/SME support to perform instructor pilot ATD cockpit operations as required to support syllabus-directed missions and debrief missions covering all required items.
- Maintain ATD 2 and 4-ship flight lead qualification in all syllabus missions using current tactics and employment standards.
- Conducts classroom academic lectures, academic/device remedial instruction, monitor Computer-Based Instructional Technology lessons (CBIT), and provides academic testing and evaluation to aircrews.
- Develops mission scenarios and conducts syllabus or continuation training device missions to accomplish required mission objectives and specific mission tasks. Performs related additional duties as assigned by the Site Manager.
What you must have
- Contract Instructors shall have been an instructor within last five years in a 4th or 5th generation fighter or qualified as a contract instructor in a tactical fighter within the preceding two years prior to being hired.
- Current instructors may be phased out if they do not meet qualifications or when they are beyond 15 years from their last qualification in a 4th or 5th generation tactical fighter.
- Basic Word, Excel, and Power Point Skills.
- All instructors must complete an approved Academic Instructor Course (AIC) or comparable approved course (i.e. Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) IAW AETCI 36-2604 Flying Training Instructor Programs (para 2.2) prior to instructing. The Government will provide slots to the contractor, if necessary to meet this requirement.
- IAW AFMAN 11-210, (para 1.4.1), all IRC instructors must be graduates of Air Force Advanced Instrument School (AFAIS) at Oklahoma City, OK; SAC Instrument Flight Course/Advanced Instrument Flight Course (SIFC/AIFC) formerly at Castle AFB, CA; or Instructor Pilot Instrument School (IPIS) formerly at Randolph AFB, TX. The Government will provide AFAIS slots to contractor (if necessary) to meet this requirement.
- Contract instructors assigned to teach Crew Resource Management (CRM) will have completed the required facilitator Course.
- Contract Instructors shall meet 2-4 ship flight lead qualifications. These instructors will maintain ground training currency (IRC, FCIF/PRF, etc.)
- Contract Instructors shall require a SECRET security clearance with a background investigation within the past six (6) years. Instructors who fly as flight lead/wingmen in linked simulator missions must qualify as such during phase-in and maintain proficiency as required by the Training and Certification Plan (TCP). Instructors shall have a working knowledge of all applicable regulations, procedures, technical orders, and other publications currently used to meet syllabi objectives. The contract instructor shall be current, qualified and certified IAW Training and Certification Plan (TCP). The instructor shall meet all applicable skills for the positon being executed. (Flight Lead, Wingman, Instructor or Console Operator etc.) The instructor must be proficient in ATD console operations, debrief stations, threat simulators or other equipment required to execute the assigned mission so as not to interrupt student training.
