Job Description
REMOTE or Hybrid schedule offered - Pocasset, MA
HII Unmanned Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Project Controller in our Pocasset, Massachusetts office. Under the direct supervision of the Project Control Manager, you will work independently but alongside a team of Project Controllers and manages the planning, tracking, analysis and reporting of performance on projects of varying contract type, size, complexity and level of risk. You will be a key member of the program team and works with the Program Manager to help define the project’s goals and objectives; and recommends actions to improve progress and performance. As our Project Controller you will have significant interface with Program/Project Managers, senior technical staff, as well as other functional organizations including contracts, finance, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and procurement.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Sets up cost control system, monitors and controls costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system. Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines. Prepares budgets and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis. Prepares program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled. Performs schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks. Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government. Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines. Other tasking includes but is not limited to develop/maintenance of EACs, forecast creation/tracking, build of annual operating plan (AOP), and material/subcontractor PO tracking.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in Finance/Accounting; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- Experience as a Project Controller
- Experience with government contracts preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and overall MS Office suite and a working knowledge of relevant software applications.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint & Cognos Reporting #LI-MH1
Preferred Requirements
- Strong organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.
- Very detail oriented.
- Must be analytical, possess strong communication and presentation skills and have the ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Experience with Unanet or Deltek Cobra is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
