Hill International is seeking a Construction Engineer in Cincinnati, Ohio


  • Works under the supervision of an ODOT Project Engineer or LPA Person in Responsible Charge
  • Coordinates inspection of project work including, but not limited to the testing of materials and required documentation to ensure work performed by contractors is in compliance with all state and federal specifications.
  • Correlates and analyzes field data
  • Reviews plans and records
  • Supports and prepares change orders, assists with dispute resolution, estimates, conducting progress meetings, preparing meeting minutes and other related duties finalize or assist with finalizing and closing out the project.
  • Performs data entry into ODOT's CMS/SITE MANAGER system or local documentation equivalent as directed by the Project Engineer or LPA person in charge
  • Inspects construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with specifications, plans, and/or proposals.

  • Twenty-four (24) months of construction project technical/management experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from a program accredited by ABET or a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management accredited by ACCE (American Council for Construction Education).
  • ACI Level I certification for concrete testing and successful completion of the ODOT Compaction Testing of Unbound Materials Test for soils testing.
  • Construction Engineer must have successfully passed the Department's Advanced Structures Test to inspect structures.
  • Full Covid-19 vaccination is recommended. Mandatory vaccinations and proof of vaccination are subject to client requirements, federal, state or local law.
