Engineer Job Description
Your Role at Baxter
As part of the sustaining engineering team, you will be responsible for design changes for medical device products such as hospital beds and equipment. The engineering design changes may be related to design improvements, new compliance requirements, or supply chain support.
What you'll be doing
- Perform engineering releases for small to medium projects. The projects will primarily involve mechanical design and development but may also include labeling, documentation, or other more general product updates.
- Apply new technical tools and concepts as needed with support from other team members.
- Implement design changes for mechanical components.
- Support feasibility assessment, product risk documentation, DFMEA, engineering requirements, and cost estimates.
- Support in cross functional project planning sessions to develop schedules using project management tools
- Manage multiple small projects simultaneously through execution of project plan.
- Work in a team environment with daily contact with other engineers, technicians, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, supply management, and marketing personnel.
- Work with our sales team to support customer requests or work directly with customers.
- Inform others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to meet commitments.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree from accredited college/university.
- 0-1 years of mechanical design engineering experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Adaptable to changing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 to $93,500 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
