JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounts receivable specialist will process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The accounts receivable specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners. The Accounts receivable specialist will also assist in daily, weekly, and monthly functions, such as: month-end close, profit & loss analytics by Customer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Determine the most efficient and effective approach to meeting deadlines and accomplish priorities under limited direction using initiative, judgment, and accounting knowledge.
- Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents and records
- Perform month-end closing tasks, including journal entries, monthly reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
- Research accounting transactions
- Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail.
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
- Reconcile General Ledger balance to subsidiary ledgers, and research and correct discrepancies.
- Ensure processes, transactions, and balances are recorded in compliance with accounting/finance policies.
- Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R so management can gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, and multi-line phones.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekend and evening work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSE
- High School Diploma or Technical Certificate
REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Experience in driving process improvement
- Three years’ Experience in accounts receivable (or accounts payable) or
- Any similar combination of education and experience
REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the aviation industry
- Experience with Quantum
- Associate’s degree or equivalent
