Summary

Directs, administers, and coordinates the fiscal and accounting practices of the organization in support of policies, goals, and objectives as established by the executive director and the Board of Directors by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following and other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.

Actively promotes the Agency mission, vision, and policies.

Oversees and directs budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, financial forecasting, and insurance activities on behalf of the organization.

Guides and directs management in the development, production, promotion, and financial aspects of the organization’s products and services.

Directs the preparation of both short-and-long term plans and budgets based on broad goals and growth objectives of the organization.

Supervises design of hardware and software systems to assist in the smooth and efficient flow of information.

Establishes fiscal policies consistent with the executive director’s board policies and objectives and ensures their execution.

Appraises the organization’s financial position and issues periodic reports on organization’s financial stability, liquidity, and growth.

Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.

Analyzes operational issues pertaining to program departments and determines their financial impact on the Center.

Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.

Ensures that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages between one to three subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of two – ten employees in the Finance and Administrative Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Also directly supervises one – ten non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software, database software, payroll systems, and relevant Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year accredited college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with federal and state funded grants is helpful.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

Valid Driver’s License. Must have or be able to obtain CPR/1st Aid Certification as mandated by the agency.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be able to multi-task, work flexible hours and work with the elderly population. The ability to be a team player is a must. Must be able to adapt to frequent change and multiple requests and interruptions. All employees are expected to exhibit a good worth ethic by demonstrating such characteristics as acceptable attendance, punctuality, and initiative.

Other Qualifications

Any other certification as required by local, state or federal guidelines. Must be able to pass criminal background checks, physical exam and TB testing as mandated by the organization. Reliable transportation to and from work and a working phone are required. Will follow all organization policies and procedures. Demonstrates adaptability, initiative, and professionalism in appearance and attitude. Availability to attend evening/weekend events as needed is required. Due to the nature of Agency funding, preference may be given to Hillsdale County Residents.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour
