What Will I be Doing?
The Manager Accounting oversees and manages assigned accounting area to ensure all financial accounting processes are completed timely, accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP; establishes and maintains consistent, key financial and operational standard methodologies and internal controls.
You are responsible for driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Supervises daily accounting operation for assigned area including managing 5 team members.
- Ensures timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
- Interprets, communicates, establishes, and maintains effective accounting controls, policies and best practices.
- Ensures SOX compliance in assigned reporting area.
- Reviews and/or approves daily/monthly/quarterly journal entries.
- Reviews and/or approves balance sheet account reconciliations within established timeframes.
- Provides monthly and quarterly analytical review, financial fluctuation and trend analyses as required.
- Supervises cash flow and overall financial health of assigned resorts.
- Reviews & approves invoices and wire requests.
- Collaborates with other Accounting Managers and Directors in an effort to establish and maintain consistent accounting practices.
- Works closely with Resort Operations management and addresses accounting-related questions, concerns, or discrepancies.
- Assists FP&A team with annual HOA budgets as needed.
- Identifies areas for improvement, makes recommendations on new or existing accounting processes or procedures, and implements changes to drive efficiency.
- Oversees annual external audit process for assigned entities.
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP, concepts, theories, practices, terminology and applied bases of accounting.
- Trains, supervises, and evaluates accounting team; makes effective use of performance appraisals and evaluations to motivate team members and identify growth opportunities.
- Leads by example; displays self-assurance, enthusiasm and professionalism while building high morale among the accounting team.
- Promotes a team environment and encourages teamwork to solve problems and increase productivity.
- Builds strong, effective relationships with business counterparts and internal/external customers.

To fulfill this role successfully, you possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- 3-5 years related experience
- 2 years managerial experience
- College Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Proficient in Excel.
- Knowledge of automated accounting systems.
- Must be able to work occasional evenings, weekend and/or Holidays
