Senior Software Engineer, Process Automation

***This position will be Remote, but with a preference for candidates in McLean, VA or Dallas, TX***

What will I be doing? As the Senior Software Engineer focusing on Blue Prism, you will apply technical skills to automate business processes and Server builds. You will be working with build managers, architecture domains and IT disciplines as part of the Corporate Systems build team. This role is a critically important technical resource deployed within the context of business technology solution delivery projects to ensure overall stability and performance of our work-class applications. 

More specifically, you will:

• Help to define and set standard methodologies for the Corporate Systems Build organization
• Develops Robotic process automation bots to automate business processes
• Assists with unit test, as required
• Provides production support by solving Incidents/Problems and participates in continuous improvement efforts
• Delivers maintenance and improvements for existing software or packaged applications
• Adheres to coding standards / procedures and participates in code reviews
• Ensures that all solution development is aligned to architectural standards throughout the Agile development process
• Assists Tester in designing and ensuring overall integrity of the test plan
• Applying software development knowledge to the current IT environment  

Requirements

What are we looking for? The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

• Agile problem-solving techniques and decision making principles
• Ability to work independently without significant oversite to follow requirements and develop solutions
• Ability to create a technical specification and product design from published requirements
• Demonstrates a proficiency in the technology in use to code/configure quality solutions that require limited rework and meet business / end-user needs by adhering to best practices
• Willingness to learn new technologies and expand skills
• Experience with Shell scripting or PowerShell scripting
• Experience Windows system administration is preferred
• Experience using AWS components

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

• Five (5) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
• Two (2) years of experience with PowerShell, Bash or other shell scripting languages
• Two (2) years of experience with common RPA technologies and AWS components
• Travel approximately 5%

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience
• Seven (7) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
• Three (3) years of specific experience with PowerShell or shell scripting
• Three (3) years of experience with RPA Blue Prism and AWS components
• Two (2) years of Windows administration experience
