Job Title
Tax Analyst I
Job Responsibilities
- Automating quarterly and annual Client Health reports.
- Monitoring data quality in our internal software.
- Working with operations management, creating a dashboard for key performance metrics.
- Compile economic and tax data to be used in tax studies and public presentations. Assist with and improve the automation of forecasts and tax study models.
- Automating standing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for clients.
- Forecasting revenues for our clients and operations managers.
- Take assignment of ad-hoc requests from clients and complete a polished report that can be provided to the client. Suggest, test, and implement improvements to the process for automating these reports.
Skills and Qualifications
- Basic scripting in data-oriented programming language like R or Python.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid numerical reasoning.
- Visual storytelling.
- Strong excel skills.
- Ability to pull data from SQL and to clean and prepare the data for use in analysis.
- Ability to think critically about the meaning of the data compared to the real world.
- Training or experience in predictive analytics or forecasting.
- Experience with Power BI a plus.
- Experience with classification models and use of deep learning a plus.
- Be able to handle challenges to your analysis and respond logically.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and to take direction and critique of the work well.
- Ability to deliver bad news tactfully.
- Handle change and be willing to contribute to a dynamic, growing work environment.
- Experience leading without authority a plus.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Two years’ experience as a tax analyst, accounting or financial role.
- Any combination of education and experience.
Compensation
The starting base salary for this position is expected to be between $25.00 to $30.00 per hour. Actual pay rate will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
