The primary responsibility of the Director, Trusts, Estates & Private Clients is to build relationships with trust and estate attorneys, advisors, and fiduciaries in your designated territory. Additional responsibility is to support a specific Freeman’s | Hindman region, while working across all regions to support the achievement of Freeman's | Hindman business plans and business growth.
In this role, you will effectively develop relationships with trust and estate attorneys, bankers, museum professionals and private clients to generate consignments for auction. And work in coordination with Freeman’s | Hindman Appraisals on appraisal related projects.
Collaborates with regional Managers and TEPC team members and specialists. Represents Freeman’s | Hindman in daily interactions with clients and Hindman team members. Models the five principles of the client interaction guidelines and reinforces their importance by providing timely feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate new consignments by developing relationships with consigners.
- Grow the reputation of Hindman with estate and trust bankers and attorneys by attending conferences and events.
- Effectively builds and maintains partnerships externally with referral sources and maintains strong connections at all levels within the company to ensure company success.
- Strategically calls on new prospects in the region to introduce them to Hindman and broaden the Hindman organizational presence.
- Communicates and shares information with candor that builds trust and enhances relationships and teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned.
Successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in arts management, Art History, Law, or Business; advanced degree highly desirable
- 7 years of progressively responsible experience within the arts auction industry, professional services and/or business development preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and colleagues.
- Full understanding of auction and appraisal business
- Strong influence sales skills and relationship-builder; able to communicate the benefits of partnering with Hindman to large and accounts.
- Team player: able to work across regions to influence national accounts and generate valuable consignments.
- Successful track record of creating sales growth at or above target margins; highly motivated; drive for results.
- High integrity in all aspects of work and dealing with others.
