Responsibilities
As a Photo/Video Production Intern at Hines you will learn about archival preservation and video production. The intern will gain hands-on experience processing historical materials for photo and video use in the internal communications department. Projects may include identifying, labeling, inventorying materials, digitizing photographs, and organizing video content. We are searching for exceptionally motivated individuals to train in film and digital image archiving, film and video logging, database entry, and other technical and related media skills. We are looking for an intern for Spring Semester 2023. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Scan or photograph negatives, prints, and other types of material to preservation standards
- Describe and catalog archival items into Microsoft Excel
- Retouch digital images using Adobe Photoshop
- Produce and edit video content that adhere to company guidelines and standards for multiple platforms
- Maintain digital databases
- Perform other duties as requested by staff to ensure all necessary tasks are performed in a proficient manner that adheres to the quality expected from the company
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements include:
- Current student working on Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in archives or video production field. Background in archiving, history, library science or moving image studies preferred
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, AfterEffects); Box and Content Management Systems
- Tech and computer savvy
- Self-directed and the ability to work independently
- Familiarity with the digital video and archival landscape
