Description:
The Chairperson of the Committee on Special Education (CSE) Pre-School Special Education (CPSE) is responsible for all aspects related to the functioning and the operation of the CSE and CPSE.
Responsibilities:
- Compile and maintain written child count records and submit required reports to the State Education Department.
- Coordinate all activities relating to the Committee on Special Education.
- Monitor and maintain confidential records for students involved with the Committee on Special Education.
- Monitor written documentation required by law and ensure that all members of the Committee on Special Education Department follow proper procedures.
- Work with Business Manager to ensure revenues relating to Special Education are being maximized to assure continued ability to provide high-quality programming.
- Submit STAC (System for Tracking and Accounting for Children) applications for appropriate private and public school placements to the State of Education Department to generate aid.
- Cooperate with the Busines as it relates to funding for education programming including Public and Private Excess Cost Aid, BOCES Aid, Medicaid reimbursement, IDEA Grants, etc.
- Submit budget information to Business Manager and administration, based on previously established guidelines, projected needs, and priorities for the Special Education Department. Participate in the continuing development of that budget.

Masters Degree with experience in Special Education
Valid Teacher Certification or related credential
