What are the responsibilities and job description for the Federal Government Paralegal position at Hire Counsel?
As one of the nation’s largest legal staffing providers, Hire Counsel has an immediate opportunity for paralegals and JD’s to work with the Federal Government in the Seattle US Attorney’s Office Civil Division. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
Responsibilities
- Review transcripts of arraignments, bond hearings, pre-sentence reports and other proceedings where defendants’ finances are discussed
- Coordinate with the Asset Forfeiture Unit
- Prepare pre-sentence asset investigation reports
- Review judgments, re-review established cases, including internet research and generating various reports, and requesting required information
Project Details
- Anticipated Start Date: Early November—upon successful completion of interview process and security clearance is obtained
- Estimated Duration: 6 months
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Location: ONSITE – IN SEATTLE
- Pay Rate: $27.44/hr
Requirements
- Required: Paralegal certificate OR 1 year in ABA Accredited law school
- Required: US Citizenship
- Required: 1 years of litigation paralegal experience
- Required: Basic knowledge of legal citations, cite checking, performing basic legal research
- Required: Knowledge and familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and ESI tools
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance
