Director Of Legal
Responsibilities
Litigation:
- Oversees and monitors the day-to-day defense and progress of loan--level litigation in which the Company is involved.
- Manages legal representation by national network of outside counsel to mitigate financial exposure to the Company and its clients.
- Provides litigation-related reporting to General Counsel and senior management of the Company.
Operational:
- Provides support to assigned business units.
- Consults with management of assigned business units to identify solutions to operational challenges that are compliant with all legal and contractual obligations.
- Communicates complex legal issues and proposes business solutions to multiple levels of employees and management.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate.
- Admitted to the bar for the State of Utah and in good standing.
- 2 years' experience as an attorney with demonstrated competence.
- Experience in litigation is required.
- Experience in mortgage, residential real estate transactions, mortgage banking, foreclosure, and bankruptcy law are a plus.
- Experience managing wide-ranging portfolio of projects/case load and collaborating with multiple parties to produce legal documents and negotiate resolutions.
- Ability to handle stress and manage multiple projects with competing interests for time.
- Consistent accuracy and thoroughness in research and investigation.
- Ability to identify problems in a timely manner and develop alternative solutions to resolve problems in early stages.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
