SQUAN is seeking an OSP Engineer to work out of our Conway, AR office to provide mentoring and leadership to up-and-coming engineers. This position is full-time and requires a daily office presence. Some field training may be required to help new hires develop their skills. Local site visits will be required to assist with BAU/Enterprise/Obligatory workload. The ideal candidate should be experienced with FTTH and general Telecom Engineering practices. The ideal candidate should also be familiar with AutoCAD in a telecom environment and possess a demeanor conducive to mentoring. Responsibilities- QC designs and provides feedback to Designers/Engineers
- Perform local site visits to perform BAU functions
- Utilize AutoCAD and/or other client-proprietary mapping software to create and edit telecom plant designs, schematics, permit drawings, and any other CAD drawings/records as required per client projects
- Apply best practice to assign fiber count
- Ability to read and extract ROW maps
Requirements
- BAU experience – i.e., services orders, ethernet, cable cuts, etc
- Experience with Lumen and/or Frontier is a plus2 years of recent experience utilizing AutoCAD to create fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) designs including assigning fiber counts
- Proficient in Windows operating system environment with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Exhibit effective communication skills
- Maintain a solid work ethic and lead by example
