Join us in leading the change. We have a great opportunity for a Sr. Power System Energy Resouces Engineer.
In this role the Sr. Engineer will, manage and lead power system generation and merchant transmission integration and interconnection services in the Western Interconnection and ERCOT, including leading other power system engineers, performing analyses, and managing client communications, under minimal supervision.
Location: This position is open to remote
Travel: Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
Compensation: starting at $120,000 plus yearly bonuses
Qualifications
- 5 years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer.
- Proven team player with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
- Strong customer focus, both internal and external. Robust organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks, projects and resources.
How you can make an impact:
- Lead Generation Integration and Interconnection efforts within the Western Interconnection and Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) footprint. Acts as the technical expert in matters related to the generator (and load) interconnection processes.
- Identify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and assessing grid capacity.
- Support business development activities within ERCOT and/or the West.
- Work on interconnection projects, including modeling, due diligence, interconnection analysis.
- Create and validate PSSE, PSLF and PSCAD models for renewable generation: Solar PV, BESS, Wind.
- It is a plus if the candidate is able to perform specialized studies of the power grid, such as Sub-synchronous Resonance studies, protection coordination studies, arc flash studies, transient overvoltage (TOV) studies.
- Contribute to Knowledge base of the organization and development of innovative study approaches/techniques.
- Lead, teach and mentor junior level Power Systems Engineers.
- Attend and participate in meetings and conferences on engineering and technical issues and report key finding
