About the Role:
The position will need a seasoned and high performing individual who has extensive Financial and Accounting leadership experience with established independent hotels. This individual will lead financial reporting, investments, risk management, and cash flow analysis, among other financial aspects of the business for assigned properties in the College Park, MD area. They will create and maintain strong relationships with team members, partners, online travel agencies, system partners and others to position the properties for optimal revenue generation.

- Location: College Park, MD, 100% on-site.
- Compensation: $135K, with opportunity for bonuses.

How You Contribute:
- Coordinate all accounting functions with Corporate Accounting and act as a liaison to all other departments.
- Train and coordinate activities of the accounting staff.
- Ensure the timely billing of all direct bill accounts with complete backup and accurate invoices.
- Ensure all guest disputes and requests for clarification are resolved and / or responded to within 24 hours of notice.
- Ensure an effective tracking system for all rebates and daily cash management functions are prepared properly.
- Maintain Hotel Checkbook, prepare company reconciliation, and solve disputes.
- Ensure daily balance of Daily Report’s, a timely month-end and year-end close.
- Responsible for all phases of Purchase Orders, Receivables, Collections and Accuracy of billing
- Maintain accuracy with all Banquets / Tax tracking and bank deposits.
- Input daily final figures and purchase orders into Accounting System, and ensure totals are balanced.
- Process credit applications for direct billing and set up vendors for all departments.
- Process MD Sales and use Tax and County Occupancy Tax Monthly.
- Produce monthly P&Ls in a timely manner and ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor.
- Understand and adhere to company policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Manage Accounting Team performance reviews, mentorship, development, and task delegation.
- Collaborate / lead any necessary process improvement efforts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field highly preferred.
- 4 years of Accounting Leadership experience in Hospitality (Hotels / Restaurants).
- 2 years of Team Supervisory experience.
- High degrees of initiative, accuracy, and strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with major accounting software in Hospitality (MS Office Suite, RoomMaster, Opera, Maestro, Delphi, iHotellier, Duetto, etc.)
