Duties:
- Direct traffic and ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, and drivers in construction zones
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades
- Communicate with coworkers and drivers using hand signals or two-way radios
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust traffic control devices as needed
- Report any issues or incidents to supervisors or law enforcement
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Skills:
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, dump trucks, graders, etc.
- Familiarity with utility locating and underground infrastructure
- Ability to pave and build roads or other structures
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is a plus
