Desktop Support Technician
Chapin, SC
6-Month contract (possibility to extend or convert to FTE)
Role Purpose: The Windows Desktop support technician will be primarily responsible for migrating existing customers from one domain to another on both Windows VDI’s, physical desktops and laptops. This role is also responsible for tracking and documenting issues that cannot be resolved by the Workplace Technology team and creating tickets for the appropriate teams to resolve. This will be at the direction of the team leads and manager of the Workplace Technology team. This will also include imaging, updating and setting up of all end user hardware that is delivered to the customer.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years working in service desk environment.
Knowledge & Skill:
- Entry level for more complex support and administrative functions.
- Applies generally straightforward methods or procedures.
- Requires good knowledge, experience, and skill of standardized rules, procedures or operations on a variety of activities requiring training and experience.
- Is expected to work through typical or moderately complex problems but may require occasional guidance or direction.
- Requires specialized skills in VDI and Windows desktops/Laptops in a Windows 10 environment.
Scope of Impact: May assist in orienting, training, and checking the work of lower level employees. Has personal responsibility for complex administrative and/or technical support. Has latitude to decide the order in which they are to be done.
Strategic Planning: Follows prescribed standard practices that are readily understood. Decisions require some judgment in applying rules and procedures, but remain within limits of standard practice. May gather information to help arrive at an appropriate solution.
Customer Focus: Understands the importance of the customer and the influence of own role in delivering customer satisfaction; Understands customer needs. Must listen to and accurately communicate with customers in an effective and tactful way. Provides prompt, reliable, and responsive service to all customers.
This is a contract position for 6 months with a possibility to extend or convert to FTE
