The Role
The QE(Quality Engineering) Manager is the role responsible for leading large-scale Testing for mission critical business applications in implementing and sustaining QE standards using industry leading Testing tools. The role will receive deep insight into Hiscox enterprise architecture along with freedom to complete QE goals in their own way. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, operating at the tactical level, while solving difficult business problems – this role is for you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage QE effort for a highly visible program with multiple streams, including coordinating testing activities with business / multiple vendors for Test estimation, delivery of Test strategy/plan, Test status, Test results, Risk, Traceability, Defect management, Test coverage, UAT, SIT etc.,
- Recognize and manage testing dependencies by performing business and systems analysis between multiple areas
- Manage QE for multiple work streams concurrently while maintaining required quality standards
- Define QE roadmap and drive the implementation working with all internal and external stakeholders
- Absorbing complex technical and conceptual information, identifying key issues and presenting understandable alternatives to both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels of the organization
- Conform and comply to all PMO and Test Practice documentation, policies, and best practices
- Provide guidance to QE team on quality gates based on experience and knowledge of Insurance Industry
- Communicate with all Stakeholders to ensure project/program goals, targets, activities and schedules are understood
- Responsible for delivering and communicating daily and weekly Testing status reports for multiple projects including risk identification

Here are some of the requirements we would ideally like to see:
- 10 years QA work experience with at least 5 years of QE Management experience
- Hands on knowledge of following quality assurance levels and types: unit, system, integration, regression, UAT, performance and automated testing
- Test management experience for Insurance product implementation / BAU
- Experience leading globally disbursed teams with agile management tools like JIRA
- Insurance domain experience
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work independently
- Prior experience working within a TCOE or Organizational Test Practice
What will set you apart:
- Testing experience with implementation / maintenance of any insurance COTS product
- Excellent statistical and data analysis skills
- Ability to work closely with Architects/Devs to understand their needs and constraints without being fazed by the technology
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, vendors and projects in a demanding environment
- Experience in Waterfall and Agile methodology/Scrum
- At least 3 years of experience with Automated Testing (GUI and API)
- Demonstrated QE expertise or technical experience in the following: Automation / Performance, Web Services, UAT, TDM
