JOB SUMMARY

The Cross-Functional Team Member is an integral part of a diverse and dynamic team composed of individuals from different functional areas within the District. The Cross-Functional Team Member will participate in cross-functional projects, leveraging knowledge and skills to drive support implementation of the MSAP grant, wriring of innovative courses, streamline processes, and deliver successful outcomes for all 6 MSAP schools.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.        Lead a cross-functional team composed of individuals from different departments and functional areas.
2.        Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring effective utilization of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
    Leverage project management tools and methodologies to streamline processes, improve efficiency and drive continuous improvement within the team.
3.        Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies relevant to the projects and functional areas within the team.
4.        Promote a positive team culture that values diversity, collaboration, innovation and accountability.
5.        Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise the development and implementation of district-approved magnet schools in accordance with district policies and guidelines. 
6.        Oversee district magnet programs including the development and implementation of the accountability report and revisions to ensure appeal and relevance. 
7.        Responsible for federal grant project activity and for monitoring the successful accomplishment of project goals and objectives as the Magnet Schools Assistance Program grant director; ensure complete fiscal responsibility for MSAP grant expenditures and budgetary allocations; plan, develop, and write district-approved federal magnet and integration related grant applications. 
8.        Review, analyze, and report on magnet issues and reform measure implications of federal legislation pertaining to magnet schools. 
9.        Plan, develop, and implement recruitment and marketing plan and campaigns for district magnet schools that include the development, implementation, review and analysis of parent surveys and community interest in thematic educational programs. 
10.        Establish and implement district policies, procedures, and accountability guidelines for district magnet schools. 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED

11.        Serve as liaison with other district and school choice administrators, personnel and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and exchange information; serve on district-wide committees, task forces, and panels; develop policies and procedures to encourage effective and efficient district magnet programs. 
12.        Perform a variety of major special projects, such as fairs and publications, affecting districtwide magnet personnel and community members, including programs and activities. 
13.        Design and/or support magnet curriculum goals, materials, specific methodology, and assessment of student progress at district magnet schools to serve all students represented at a school site. 
14.        Manage the department functions and assigned personnel; provide for continuing departmental staff training in magnet programs and school choice related programs; develop work schedules, and coordinate the interview and selection process. 
15.        Perform systems analysis for various work processes and recommend changes for improving efficiency and design management control systems and work processes. 
16.        Oversee research activities, analyze data, and prepare complex financial, statistical, and analytical reports, findings and statements for the district, state, and federal agencies in accordance with funding requirements. 
16.        Develop short and long-range plans for increasing efficiency through the use of technology and human resources. 
17.        Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (depending on the specific requirements of the cross-functional team)

WORK EXPERIENCE

3 Years Experience working in cross-functional teams or projects.

SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse functional backgrounds.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear and concise information sharing.

Strong problem-solving abilities, with a logical and analytical mindset to address complex challenges.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines.

Proficiency in relevant software and tools used by the cross-functional team.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing typically involves monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of same duties they are leading.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.

BUDGET AUTHORITY

No budget development activity is required.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS

Decisions have minor, small and possibly incremental impact on the department or facility. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations where most of the work is verified or checked and is normally confined to a single department or phase of the organizational activities resulting in brief inconvenience.

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS

Collaborate and solve problems - works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

Takes routine or required customer actions to meet customer needs. Responds promptly and accurately to customer complaints, inquiries and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow-up. May handle escalated issues passed on from coworkers or subordinates.

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.

Ability to carry and/or lift less than 15 pounds.
