Summary:
The Field Business Intelligence Team plays a meaningful role in measuring the health and success of our companys distribution system through reporting, data analytics and insights to tell a story with data using sophisticated techniques and visualization. This role provides both leadership and expert level quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to stakeholders that drive business decisions and address insightful questions. This analyst will create and owns high quality, value driven work that places the user in the center of decision making. This collaborative and interesting team is known for speed, agility, and innovation in work. The Lead Data Analyst could potentially provide leadership for two to three direct reports including data analysts, data engineers, or data scientists.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Deep expertise in at least one business area or domain, with a broad understanding of the business and domains surrounding the main focus. Trusted to articulate this knowledge with confidence at the enterprise level and may be engaged to provide insight at the senior leadership level to provide detailed analysis.

Delivers results, insights, and recommendations (written, verbal, presentations, etc.) to internal clients and senior leaders to substantiate business decision-making.

Produces actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, display root cause analysis of problems, and recommend solutions.

Seeks to understand business process, user tasks, and as vital, captures refined process documents.

Contributes to growth and engagement of the team by sharing standard processes with peers through coaching and mentoring around core methodologies, patterns, and improved outcomes.

Takes initiative to craft and develop work based on interpretation of findings and business client needs on a wide range of elaborate analytical topics.

Provides consultation to professional through senior leadership business clients and participates in enterprise-wide teams to address business topics.

Identifies & assembles business requirements, develops KPI frameworks.

Perform business use case opportunity identification & sizing.

Consistently applies new points of view, creative problem solving, and inter-departmental connections to improve enterprise analytical capabilities.

Actively models a culture of innovation by providing the space to learn, remain curious, and adopting ways to advance the team's capabilities and contributions.

Access, capture, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into sophisticated business problems, decisions, and performance through reports, and dashboards.

Owns the creation of forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market competence. Applies analytics and metrics to improve processes and provide data-driven forecasts that impact business results (efficiency, costs, risks, etc.).
Qualifications:

At least 6 years of professional experience building analytics models, visualizations and delivering insights.

Demonstrated experience with a consistent track record in research and data analysis, application of statistical research techniques, report or application development that support business decisions/outcomes.

Degree in computer science, MIS, math, statistics, business, or related field.

Strength in providing leadership with design ideas and direction and a player/coach mentality.

Agility and ease of interaction with technical, non-technical, and executive level stakeholders.

Capability to tell a story by applying data visualization standard methodologies to work deliverables.

Expertise in development and analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, MS Excel, SPSS or another tool.

Visualization tooling in Power BI or Tableau highly valued.
