Hitachi Energy is seeking an IT Manager for its Jefferson City, MO. This role will report into the North America Transformer Business Process Manager. The IT Manager is responsible to ensure the operation and support for a 24/7 operating manufacturing environment. The scope includes local infrastructure and applications lifecycle management, daily business support and strategic projects.
Your responsibilities
- Oversee the IT operation & maintenance of the infrastructure and applications of the factory. Accountable for the delivery of IT projects and programs. Interface & collaborate with 3rd party infrastructure vendors to plan outages and avoid business disruption.
- Ensure quality of services by establishing and enforcing organizational standards. Work with systems’ users and the IT organization to resolve issues and restore the system to proper working order in an efficient and timely manner that minimizes the adverse effects of the failure as business demands. Follow, promote, and improve departmental and company procedures, methods, and process.
- Plan, direct and assure the timely completion of the work at the required level of quality to meet the long and short-term needs of the organization.
- Analyze problems, formulate solutions and alternatives, decide on the solution, and identify the work task that must be completed to achieve the expected results.
- Assign the tasks to group members, arrange for assistance required from other IT/business groups and formulate a project plan to achieve the goals.
- Monitor, coordinate, assist and perform tasks as required to assure the necessary level of quality, cost, security, and performance of the work.
- Manage the business use of applications throughout the platform lifecycle, providing direction and coordination for enhancements. Proactively improve business processes and growth through technology enablement. Develop roadmap and strategy to reduce the quantity of applications. Leverage other industry standards, boards, councils and/or teams for establishing common practices/processes and institution of these enterprise wide. Work with other IT teams to define and agree on integration needs between processes.
- Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities. Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities. Assist with training other employees and providing backup. Supervises up to 10 employees with the titles of IT Senior developer, IT Senior Business Analyst, IT Specialist.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and a minimum 7 years of experience in IT field with infrastructure, applications, operations, and development. Alternately, will also accept a master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and a minimum 5 years of experience in IT field with infrastructure, applications, operations, and development.
- Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Supervisory or management experience including develop, coach, mentor and manage performance of others leveraging ITIL framework.
- Communicating and presenting ideas to management, customers, and end users; both technical and supervisory leadership.
- Providing leadership and technical solution to IT delivery team to understand and solve factory’s goals and objectives; and ensuring continuous operability of factory systems by developing a short and long range plans for areas of responsibility.
- Proven relationship-building and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills will be required to negotiate resolutions of controversial issues
- Requires broad knowledge of manufacturing operations, business processes, business tools and the flow of data
