We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Functional Design Engineer with strong systems background and experience working in complex Rail Signalling projects such as ETCS. The successful candidate will deliver Functional Signalling design for complex & medium signalling railway projects in accordance with industry and company standards and processes. The position is based in Genoa/Naples, Italy. Accountabilities Main accountabilities shall include but are not limited to: Guarantee the delivery of complex & medium Functional designs Ensure deep knowledge of industry standards (e.g. UNISIG, CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, IPC, etc.), mainly oriented on ERTMS/ETCS systems Responsible for producing functional design documentation including system requirements and architecture, interface control, scheme plans Ensuring design compliance through requirement traceability Ensuring the Functional documents produced are issued and controlled in accordance with company processes Participating in or leading reviews to detect design errors, process and tool inefficiencies, and putting in place corrective and improvement actions Guarantee the functional analysis of V&V feedback and site tests Required Skills/Knowledge From 5 years Signalling Design Engineer expertise in rail projects Background of Communication system design and delivery and integration with Signalling; Experience in delivering engineering activities for complex signalling systems as ETCS projects; Knowledge of Requirement Management tools (e.g. DOORS); Demonstrated effective team and communication skills Demonstrated effective Problem Solving skills Education/Qualifications Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology.
