Overview: HKS New York is seeking a Summer Intern to join our Cities and Communities team. With close supervision and mentorship, performs basic assignments receiving specific and detailed instruction as to tasks required and results expected. Integrated into a multi-disciplinary team so that they may participate in as much of the process as possible. Responsibilities: Project Supports the project team through entry-level tasks Assists with the preparation of presentations and performing basic analytical tasks as needed Prepares presentations as needed for client/project team review Helps compile data and conducts research for the project team Works on multiple projects and collaborates with team members Participates in officewide initiatives and/or intern specific projects for presentations to peer group Cultural Performs work in a manner that demonstrates an appreciation for the firm’s cultural norms, including a commitment to quality, innovation, learning and growth Becomes skilled in fostering and maintaining a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team Fosters awareness of the firm’s principles of ‘design excellence’ in the integration of responsible and sustainable design practice with the art of design Financial Develops understanding of the financial implications of overhead and chargeable time, including accountability to project plan and planned utilization rate Revenue or Opportunity Generation Fosters awareness of the importance of growing and maintaining client relationships and the basic concept of business development Qualifications: Currently earning a professional degree at an accredited school Typically 0-2 years of experience Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred Knowledge of additional programs may be preferred based on designated team Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing Ability to work in team environment Ability to effectively meet deadlines If you currently work for HKS, please submit your application via the Internal Careers Portal.
