Summary: Clean, disinfect and sterilize medical equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Clean, disinfect and maintains equipment in a timely manner.
- Follow all infection control procedures outlined in HME Specialists' Policy CDS-016, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) while handling contaminated or potentially contaminated equipment and/or supplies.
- Follow all disinfectant/sterilizing agent manufacturers' use instructions and safety precautions.
- Keep cleaning area free from contamination and in compliance with infection control policies and/or procedures.
- Ensure equipment is properly marked, covered and segregated in appropriate areas.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance between customer use. Perform scheduled maintenance per manufactures specifications and documents maintenance when required by manufacturer.
- Perform functional checks on cleaned equipment.
- Compliance with HME Specialists Policies and Procedures.
- Support the HME Specialists' Mission Statement, vision and values.
- Participate in Improvement of Operational Performance (IOP) activities.
- Maintain and sterilize equipment.
- Complete required annual and monthly on-line Courses.
- Participate in traditional and e-learning programs.
- Follow proper building closing procedures.
- Perform other duties or special projects when necessary.
- Support the HME Specialists' Mission Statement, vision and values.
- Adheres to HME Specialists culture and behavior standards.
