What We're Looking For
HNTB is a leading infrastructure company and is growing in the Carolinas. We are looking for entry-level CAD technicians to support design production in our Raleigh, NC office in the traffic design and structure design departments. This is a great opportunity for motivated candidates to help us take on challenge of growing and improving the transportation infrastructure in North Carolina. The position is in a team environment in which primary responsibilities include working with a team to prepare plan production drawings with Microstation to support the department.
Primary Focus Will Include:
- CAD Plan preparation
- Data collection and data management
- Engineering calculations
- Focus of tasks will generally be related to specific Engineering sub-type
- Some Field Work may be needed
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- MicroStation experience preferred
- AutoCAD experience preferred
What You'll Need
Essential Responsibilities:
- Utilizes computer aided drafting, design software and various other computer software packages to assist in the preparation of construction details, design plans, reports, and meeting exhibits.
- Transfers information in numerical, written and sketched, or electronic format from sources such as legal descriptions, survey data, aerial photographs and computer files to final plans and maps.
- Visualizes and illustrates concept or designs in 2 or 3 dimensions. Utilizes mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Performs tasks under close supervision or from detail procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate of Science or Technical School
- In lieu of education, 2 years related experience
