What We're Looking For Construction Managers assist the Project Managers in performing field inspection and reporting, as-built plans, managing contractor requests for information, field change requests, claims, cost, and schedule. Construction Managers will have specialized skills in construction project management, contract administration, construction engineering, cost, and schedule engineering, estimating, construction safety, and quality assurance. Primary Focus Will Include: Coordination of review and approval of DFI, DB, and PDB Contractor design-build design (i.e. design build (DB), design-furnish-install (DFI), progressive design-build (PDB))s Monitoring performance and compliance of the construction work with quality requirements; issuing Non-Conformance Reports where deemed necessary and monitoring the timely resolution of Non-Conformance Reports of the completed work and acceptance of the work at completion Review and approval of contractor progress payments Oversight of schedule performance and progress control activities Oversight and monitoring of contractor Safety and Security Programs Quality audit and assurance functions Environmental compliance monitoring activities Resolution of on-site problems Management of change and claims avoidance, and reporting Preferred Qualifications and Skills: 12 years relevant experience. In lieu of education, 16 years of relevant experience. Professional Engineer (PE), American Institute of Certifiedf Planners (AICP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III. What You'll Need Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA). Coordinates project activities establishes priorities and staff to jobs. Prepares Summary Inspection Report of Daily activities. Monitors contractor progress and compares with the reviewed progress schedule. Resolves technical field issues, and coordinates with Architects and Engineers for timely and accurate responses to requests for information. Oversees project controls, including checking contractors controls and coordinating schedules, reviews constructors schedule. Reviews submittals for conformance to plans and specifications. Develops strategies with the contractor to create submittal packages that conform to schedule requirements. Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and the execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives. Identifies and resolves non-compliant work. Provides interpretation and enforcement of contract plans and specifications. Develops strategies with the contractor to create submittal packages that conform to schedule requirements. Confirms change order requests, develops estimates, negotiates costs, and writes change orders. Provides cost control on projects and quality control within discipline. Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships and pursuit efforts for mini-mega and mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Leads proposal development and interview presentations for strategic, mini-mega, and mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community. May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of construction staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession. Performs other duties as assigned. Typically responsible for running projects of $10M or greater in construction value and key role in mega project pursuits. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or relevant degree and 10 years relevant experience.
