Our growing traffic team has designed a variety of local projects, from intersection safety improvements to complete street corridors to system interchange reconstruction. HNTB recently completed the design for a series of complex urban interchanges along I-95 in downtown Providence, developed a comprehensive traffic management plan for the Replacement of the I-495 bridge over the Merrimack River (H-12-039) in Haverhill, and are currently designing several corridors to improve safety and mobility for all users by implementing measures such as shared-use paths, transit priority, adaptive signals, and roundabouts. We are seeking a creative and responsible engineer eager to work on some of the region’s most exciting projects. The ideal candidate will be motivated to broaden and apply their knowledge base, develop quality designs, and partner with a core team of skilled engineers from a multitude of disciplines. This position will offer opportunities to expand your career, develop discipline-specific project attributes, and be mentored by senior staff. What You'll Do: Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided. Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations. Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates. Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files. Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects. Performs other duties as assigned. What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience What You'll Bring: Develops traffic analysis models in softwares including: VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, FREEVAL, and Sidra. Develops concept development, preliminary and final design plans. Designs and prepares traffic signal, signing, pavement marking, and maintenance of traffic plans Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
