What We're Looking For
Our growing office is seeking a motivated individual to support in-service bridge inspections, load rating analyses, and various structural evaluations across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. The ideal candidate will be excited to develop and apply their knowledge base, learn how to inspect and document in-service bridge conditions, and partner with a top caliber team – all while maintaining their ideal work/life balance. This position will offer opportunities to expand your career in a multitude of directions, develop discipline-specific project attributes, and be mentored by senior staff.
Candidates should be looking to develop experience in structural/bridge inspection. The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist and perform field inspections for highway and railroad bridges and develop subsequent inspection reports based on the findings. Additional tasks may include performing structural analysis and design, load ratings, design/repair plan and specification development, and cost/quantity estimates. Candidates should have the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external colleagues at all levels.
What You'll Do:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Supports the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
Supports engineering teams with various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
What You’ll Bring:
Exhibits an understanding of engineering principles relevant to the discipline.
A willingness to learn and work as a member of a growing team.
Attains knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with MicroStation and/or other software.
What We Prefer:
Master's degree in Engineering
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
Individual willing to work in variable field conditions as well as comfortable working at heights.
