What You'll Do:
Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.
Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within a discipline.
Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.
Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Provides input on recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including developing a plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
Responsible for coordinating schedules and approving timecards.
Aids in establishing employees' objectives and provides feedback from clients while coaching and mentoring their team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or
PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience
What We Prefer:
Identifying utility conflicts with proposed project improvements
Communicate with utility owners, project owner/client to verify ways to avoid conflict if possible
Identify prior rights and apply Caltrans policy and procedures to facilitate relocations.
Take the lead in identifying conceptual relocations and obtain owners approval
Take the lead in preparing Relocation Claim Letters (RCL), Notice to Owners (NTO) and Utility Agreement (UA) per Caltrans Right of Way Manual
Set up and attend meetings as needed with utility owners and clients to facilitate impacted utility relocations to meet project schedule.
Take the lead in obtaining Caltrans right of way certification to get approval for construction.
Take the lead in identifying permanent and temporary easements for relocations and obtain related approvals.
Grow the utility relocation team to cover southern CA offices
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
BS degree in Engineering
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus
Be a team player and lead the utility team

The approximate pay range for California is $97,575.45 - $173,429.55. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
