Benefits Assistant

• Assists in administering employee group insurance and benefits programs such as retirement plans, health, life, and accidental death policies, temporary disability insurance, and flex spending account
• Handles special benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution
• Maintains contact in person, by phone, or mail with insurance carriers and vendors, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees
• Maintain employee benefit files to ensure appropriate paperwork is filed accurately and timely for Ho-Chunk, Inc. and its subsidiaries.
• Assist in the maintenance of enrollment records for all benefit plans
• Complies with the provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and ACA, and helps prepare data for required plan audits and tax filings with state and federal agencies.
• Maintains strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information that incumbent may come across in payroll or benefit files and employee census data collection
• Prepares benefit information and statistical and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers, and management
• Verifies employee benefit records to ensure appropriate documentation is filed accurately and timely for Ho-Chunk, Inc. and its subsidiaries
• Assists accounting department in preparation of benefits reports and forms
• All other job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
