Summary
Job Title: CAD TechnicianDepartment: BluStone Architecture Studio for Ho-Chunk CapitalReports to: Principal ArchitectLocation: Ho-Chunk Centre-Sioux City, IowaBluStone Architecture Studio, located in Sioux City, Iowa is the architecture firm for Ho-Chunk Capital, a real estate investment and management company whose mission is tocontinue diversifying corporate assets to build wealth for the Winnebago Tribe. BluStoneArchitecture Studio designs projects that are part of Ho-Chunk Capital’s real estatedevelopment portfolio.
Summary
Responsibilities include creating drawings and specifications as directed by architects andproject managers. Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software andfamiliarity with building processes and construction details.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform theessential functions.· Liaise with architects and engineers to understand architectural and structuralrequirements and designs.· Create floor plans, foundation plans, roof plans, exterior and interior elevations, buildingsections, wall sections, plan sections, section details and other graphic representationsof building components.· Participate in and understand the design phasing used by BAS; pre-design, schematicdesign, design development, construction documents, bidding and negation,construction administration, and project closed out. Understand production methodsstep-by-step for each phase (including software types to be used).· Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software, Autodesk REVIT,and Autodesk AutoCAD, Sketchup, Lumion, Bluebeam Revu, and others.· Design schedules for construction documents including schedules for windows, doorsand door hardware, interior finishes, and any other schedules required for the project.· Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the design team.· Identify potential construction details or design issues and work with the designers,architects, and engineers to resolve them.· Assist architect in ensuring final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.· Assist architects in the creation of specification manuals.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will have no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard officeequipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, document scanners, cameras, largescaleprinters (plotters) and fax machines.Duties on job sites include documentation of existing conditions using tape measures, camera,laser measuring tools, flashlights, material probing tools among others often outdoors andindoors in non-climate-controlled conditions.

.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. to 5 p.m., evenings as needed.
Travel
Will be required travel to other locations where projects are located. BluStone ArchitectureStudio projects could be located in all 50 States and potentially in foreign countries.
Experience
· Proven work experience as a CAD technician, BIM manager, or similar role.· Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software, must know AutodeskREVIT and Autodesk AutoCAD.· Familiarity with 3D modeling and rendering tools including Sketchup, Lumion, BluebeamRevu (or others with which candidate has familiarity).· Good math skills.· Ability to meet deadlines.Education· Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design or related field, Certificate Program inCAD, or bachelor’s degree in related field.· Additional drafting certifications are a plus.
