The Maintenance Planner will plan and schedule all maintenance activities to ensure preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, corrective work, and project work are completed promptly and organized. The role works closely with the Maintenance Coordinators and Production Coordinator.
Essential Functions:
- Must comply with company safety rules and regulations
- Must work toward company safety goals
- Review and Prioritize Work Requests, verifying the adequate description of information and the realistic priority or completion date. Negotiate priorities and completion dates with the requester and Production Coordinators.
- Plans and schedules work according to department priorities.
- Regarding corrective maintenance work, determine necessary tasks and sequences, estimate required labor, prepare a spare parts list, reference data, and anticipate any other resources needed to finish the jobs safely. Confer with area coordinators to develop the most cost-effective plan.
- Participate in the detailed planning of scheduled shutdowns of equipment required to perform main preventive or corrective maintenance activities, critical routes, sequence of activities, total cost of the shutdown, and required resources (spare parts, labor, and equipment).
- Keep reference files about specifications of equipment, spare parts, drawings, history, manuals, forms, policies, and procedures.
- Verify the availability of spare parts and materials in stock. Release work orders for their scheduling when their availability has been verified, or the respective requisitions have been made.
- Prepare requisitions for purchase of maintenance materials and spare parts not generally in stock.
- Facilitate the acquisition of spare parts, tools, and materials requested for emergency jobs.
- Responsible for capturing all parts and service costs for any task.
- Responsible for maintaining the technical information updated and controlled.
- Proposes frequencies for every preventive–predictive maintenance task based on a routine operation and to maximize the equipment's effectiveness and reliability.
- Updates relevant data of preventive–predictive maintenance, work order texts, and information included in maintenance records (machinery history, computerized system, or equivalents)
- Provide support in implementing and developing “Autonomous Maintenance,” Preventive, Predictive, and Reliability Centered Maintenance.
- Update part lists based on field equipment.
- Track money spent on non-scheduled work orders.
- High school education with post-high school education in the trades, engineering, technical, business management, or equivalent job experience
- 3 years of experience in maintenance or engineering
- Experience with job planning
- Experience working with vendors and contractors
- Strong computer skills are necessary
