Hoffer Plastics is hiring for "Maintenance Associate (Pre-Apprentice)", "1st shift".
Play a key role in producing plastic components that make everyday life possible, from transportation to food packaging to healthcare.
The Maintenance Associate will train on the job to learn how and perform preventative maintenance and repair of molding machinery, automation machinery and auxiliary equipment.
The successful candidate will be willing and able to progress in technical learning including mechanical comprehension as well as basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical applications and blueprints. The Maintenance Associate will be evaluated and considered for entry into the Department of Labor Certified Maintenance Apprentice Program based on their performance within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities:
- Observe and learn the basic operation of molding, automation and auxiliary machinery/equipment.
- Learn steps of how to and then perform the following:
o Analyze and resolve technical problem skills.
o Organize and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
o Make up repair parts, replace defective components.
o Diagnose, trouble shoot, disassemble, and determine extent of repairs necessary.
o Operate drill press, grinders and basic shop tools as required.
- Exhibit willingness and ability to progress in technical learning including mechanical comprehension as well as basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical applications and blueprints.
- Regular, punctual and consistent attendance.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Good communication skills
- Strong computer skills including MS Office suite.
- Valid driver's license w/clean driving history
