Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc. seeks Design Professional in St. Louis, MO.
Duties: Perform basic architectural assignments receiving specific and detailed instruction as to tasks required and results expected. Work with the project team to assist overall effort of completing various project phases. Prepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM). Develop solutions to technical and design problems in compliance with established standards. Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects. Develop, modify, and review drawings ensuring the incorporation of design intent. Collaborate with design team to complete projects on aggressive schedules. Develop project scope, plan, and services during the contract process. Translate planning concepts into comprehensible terms for clients, designers and project team members. Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients’ program requirements and standards and policies for completion. Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings. Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research. Assure HOK document standards are met and archived correctly.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field plus 1 year of experience in job offered or related occupations. Alternately, employer will accepts a Master’s degree in Architecture or related field. Also, requires 1 year (knowledge of with Master's) of experience in each of the following: (1) Creating presentations to initiate projects and effectively convey the architectural design concept; (2) Utilizing 3D digital models, floor plans, elevations, sections, and perspectives; (3) coordinating and collecting data from site surveys, prepare site analysis studies; (4) Developing design documents for all stages of the design process, ranging from schematic design to construction documents; (5) Utilizing architectural software, including Autodesk Revit for Building Information Modeling and AutoCAD for 2D design, as well as use of other 2D and 3D modeling and visualization programs; (6) Collaborating with consultants to coordinate design drawings and integrate building systems into architectural designs for comprehensive construction documentation. Work at various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Telecommuting is permitted.
