Overview
PURPOSE
The Part Time Scale Operator will weigh trucks at our Honey Island site and supports the operations by performing various administrative tasks as needed. Depending on size of facility, other duties as assigned may include (Payroll) entry & reporting, P2P Receiving duties, KPI reporting and/or general administrative duties.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answering customer service phones
- Assists customers in identifying needed product and amount
- Assists in responsibilities for site-specific safety training of visitors
- Communicates effectively and timely with Sales staff
- Completion of IDP
- Data entry (should be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and
- Demonstrates SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTION
- Ensure all work areas, including scale house, are clean, tidy and organized at all times
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
- Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all
- Filing
- Internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources
- Invoice Accuracy Rate
- Maintains accurate COD records
- Performs other duties as time permits or as assigned
- Pit turnaround times
- Reduction in credit and rebilling through accurate ticketing
- Running reports
- Scale efficiency (Overload/Underload)
- Ticket Continuity
- Timely completion of daily reports
- Trains and coaches other employees when needed
- Weighs trucks and ticket outbound sales using the Holcim Apex system
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School diploma/GED
Work Experience: 1-3 years
Computer and Software Skills:
- Must be computer literate and able to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- SAP preferred but not required
- Able to perform basic math computations
- Knowledge of products, industry terminology
- Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
- Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
- Good communication skills – verbal and listening
- Detail-oriented
- Team-player
- Positive, courteous, and helpful approach
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical/drug/alcohol test
