Sow Herdsperson reports to Sow Farm Manager and is responsible for daily care, health and maintenance for all farrowing sows and piglets at designated work site.
Responsibilities:
- Feed and water sows and piglets
- Clean and maintain barns and equipment, including power washing, scrubbing, and disinfecting
- Monitor sow health and behavior, including recognizing signs of illness, injury, or distress
- Assist with farrowing and piglet care, including ensuring proper nutrition and temperature control
- Keep accurate records of sow and piglet data, including feeding, breeding, and medical records
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Comfortable working around animals and in a barn environment
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Up to $15.25 per hour
