What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Consultant position at Holden Moss CPAs?
$50,000 - $80,000 yearly
Responsibilities:- Handle tax filings in an organized, secure manner to ensure each client’s privacy is protected
- Check each tax form for accuracy and tax compliance
- Serve as a liaison between tax authorities and the client, submitting the final tax forms on their behalf
- Schedule consultations to go over tax strategy with clients and provide a price estimate
- Help the client plan for future tax payments and tell them what actions they can take to pay less later on
- Supervise, assign work, and train team of tax professionals
- Solid 1040, the 1120S, and 1065 experience
- Represent clients in audits before US, state, and local jurisdictions for income and SALT
- At least five years of experience in tax preparation
- Understands state and federal tax laws and can quickly interpret sections of the tax code for basic and atypical tax forms
- Can use standard tax software to make the filing process efficient
- 4-year degree in accounting or finance
- Registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and has a valid Prepare Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (current)
- 5 years of experience in tax in public accounting
- Multi-state tax experience including nexus determinations
- CCH Axcess Tax experience is a plus
- Research library includes: BNA, CCH, RIA, IQ
