Holder Construction, an Atlanta-based commercial construction company with operations throughout the United States, is seeking a highly motivated Lift Director to join our project teams in Washington DC.

- Plan, coordinate, and manage on-site lifting, hoisting, mobile equipment, and crane/rigging activities on large-scale mission-critical, aviation, and other complex market types by working collaboratively with project superintendents, project managers, trade partners, and the craft performing high-risk lifting activities.
- Utilize and implement industry best practices to promote a world-class safety culture focused on preventing SIFs.
- Manage and mentor Trade Partners to implement robust and effective safety programs and controls to ensure safe hoisting activities.
- Share and provide technical knowledge with the project team to proactively manage crane lifts and associated high-risk activities by ensuring that appropriate safety controls are in place.
- Track and trend safety data to help proactively manage safety efforts.
- Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA, company, and client rules/policies.
- Manage and coordinate onsite training and Holder/client-driven initiatives.
- 5-10 years of crane and rigging experience
- NCCCO lift director certification or local equivalent.
- Large/complex project logistics planning and management experience
- Formal safety training and competency in hazardous energy control and LOTO, scaffolding, crane management, steel erection, emergency response, fall management, excavation and confined space, rigging, hazardous waste, NFPDS/erosion control, etc.
- Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills and can communicate amongst all levels of the organization.
- Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technology applications used to support our safety efforts.
- The ideal candidate will also have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Safety Management, and professional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, SMS, etc.) or hold relevant crane and rigging certifications to demonstrate competency and technical knowledge.
