THIS IS AN UNARMED WATCHMAN (OVERNIGHT SHIFT) POSITION.
WE PAY FOR EXPERIENCE. NEGOTIABLE HOURLY WAGE BASED UPON EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ETC. REGULAR PERFORMANCE-BASED WAGE INCREASES.
CORE SHIFTS: WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY FROM APPROX 9PM TO APPROX 7AM. ADDITIONAL SHIFTS AVAILABLE.
TIME AND HALF WAGE ON HOLIDAYS.
WEEKLY PAY AND COMPLIMENTARY MEAL WHILE ON-DUTY.
SELECTED APPLICANT MUST PASS INITIAL AND ANNUAL BACKGROUND CHECKS, PASS ST LOUIS COUNTY CLASSROOM ONE-DAY ORIENTATION/TRAINING PROGRAM, AND BE LICENSABLE IN ST. LOUIS COUNTY. (EMPLOYER FUNDS ALL RELATED COSTS.)

Duties:
- Conduct both routine and random surveillance of the entire property, including out-buildings and parking lots.
- Thoroughly report and document suspicious activity by any person, guest, vendor, supplier, or employee.
- Provide surveillance in any area where alcohol is being served and help enforce state liquor and consumption laws, including checking identification, enforcing drinking limits and removing disorderly patrons.
- Keep the Manager-on -Duty informed at all times via two-way radio, or other means, as appropriate.
- Communicate in a professional, persuasive manner without resorting to force or violence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 21 years if age.
- Previous security experience preferred but not required.
- Successfully pass at least a criminal background investigation and credit checks as a condition of pre- and continued employment.
- Must be licensable in St. Louis County and successfully complete the required St. Louis County watchman orientation and one-day training course.
- Ability to use mature judgment, communicate effectively with diverse patrons and employees, and management.
- Ability to wear the designated uniform and maintain it as required.
- Ability to work designated shift hours/days.
- Must be able to easily and rapidly access all areas of the interior and exterior of the Hotel/property.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted without endangering self nor the safety of others.
- Ability to be detail-oriented, insightful, act decisively while maintaining the best interests of the patrons and Hotel foremost.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Physically demanding position.
- Prolonged standing, walking, climbing stairs; frequent reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, etc.
- Frequent interaction with diverse guests and employees.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Night shift
