Description:
The Information Governance Department at Holland & Knight is seeking to hire a Privacy and Compliance Junior Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the Privacy and Compliance Manager, the Privacy and Compliance Junior Analyst is responsible for supporting a variety of firm-wide projects and initiatives for the team. Candidates should have a strong understanding of data protection and privacy, experience working within a compliance function or supporting a business conduct and ethics program, or expertise in program development and implementation. Knowledge of data protection principles and privacy and compliance regulations are a plus. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently and manage deadlines, have strong research, communication and analytical skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment within an evolving regulatory landscape. Work is performed under direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with firm Data Protection Impact Assessments and the identification of risks and mitigation strategies under the supervision of the Privacy and Compliance Manager;
- Creates and maintains procedural documentation for Firm processes and initiatives;
- Conduct in conjunction with team support; investigations, inquiries, privacy and compliance risk management and remediation efforts;
- Participate in data protection controls strategy and the administration of privacy and security controls managed by the team;
- Monitor the completion of required learning and assist with the development of educational materials for the Privacy and Compliance training program Create supplemental materials and assisting with communication planning and program awareness in support of the Privacy by Design program;
- Review, monitor and provide reporting on questionnaire responses for the HIPAA Compliance program under the supervision of the Privacy and Compliance Manager;
- Support the firm’s adoption of tools and technologies that support the privacy and compliance program; such as project management support, document creation, communication planning, writing procedural documents and business requirements.
- Support the firm’s data loss prevention program at the direction of the Privacy and Compliance Manager; including investigation and inquiry support, business use case documentation, reviewing and escalating to manager.
- Provide administrative support to the team for various operational tasks and project initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of professional experience.
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and iManage.
- Knowledge or understanding of IT Security principles a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
