Hollman is the world's largest manufacturer of wood and laminate lockers. Hollman seeks a highly detail-oriented Staff Accounting GL to join our Accounting Team.
As Staff Accountant-General Ledger Specialist at Hollman, Inc., you will play a critical role in maintaining and managing the organization’s financial records of the organization. The Staff Accountant-GL will record, analyze, and report financial transactions accurately, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Job Responsibilities
- Record financial transactions in the general ledger using appropriate accounting codes and classifications.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of journal entries, adjusting entries, and other financial transactions.
- Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements for management review.
- Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies and irregularities.
- Conduct account research and reconciliations to verify the accuracy of entries and resolve any discrepancies.
- Identify and resolve issues related to reconciliations and escalate complex matters to the Accounting Manager.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information for reporting purposes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and systems.
- Contribute to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance and accounting operations.
- Participate in special projects, as assigned, to support business objectives and financial analysis.
- Provide back-up support to Accounting Team members, including order processing, ad-hoc reporting, and problem resolution.
Job skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in general accounting, with general ledger processing experience.
- Solid knowledge of accounting practices, procedures, and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficiency using accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Syteline, Oracle, QuickBooks)
- Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting (v-lookup, sum ifs, pivot tables, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience assisting with financial reporting end of month/year closing processes.
