Hollman is the world's largest manufacturer of wood and laminate lockers. Hollman seeks a highly detail-oriented Staff Accounting GL to join our Accounting Team.
As Staff Accountant-General Ledger Specialist at Hollman, Inc., you will play a critical role in maintaining and managing the organization’s financial records of the organization. The Staff Accountant-GL will record, analyze, and report financial transactions accurately, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Job Responsibilities
Record financial transactions in the general ledger using appropriate accounting codes and classifications.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of journal entries, adjusting entries, and other financial transactions.
Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements for management review.
Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies and irregularities.
Conduct account research and reconciliations to verify the accuracy of entries and resolve any discrepancies.
Identify and resolve issues related to reconciliations and escalate complex matters to the Accounting Manager.
Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information for reporting purposes.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and systems.
Contribute to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance and accounting operations.
Participate in special projects, as assigned, to support business objectives and financial analysis.
Provide back-up support to Accounting Team members, including order processing, ad-hoc reporting, and problem resolution.
Job skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5 years of relevant experience in general accounting, with general ledger processing experience.
Solid knowledge of accounting practices, procedures, and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Proficiency using accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Syteline, Oracle, QuickBooks)
Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting (v-lookup, sum ifs, pivot tables, etc.)
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience assisting with financial reporting end of month/year closing processes.
