An individual could be successful if they possess the following.
Your daily responsibilities include:
- Calls each race in an accurate and engaging manner that describes full details of race; makes announcements from judges from inquiries regarding a race.
- Makes announcements to all guests that are required by the racing commission and the racetrack which describe scratches, jockey changes, equipment changes and other pertinent race information.
- Announces sponsorship and commercials to meet contractual requirements; promotes company marketing programs; serves as simulcast host as required.
- Serve as master of ceremonies for HGDR sponsored events as requested.
- Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and innovations in the fields of public broadcasting.
- Serve as co-host of pre-live race card handicapping show to be taped or aired live.
- Serve as talent or co-talent for HGDR Park produced infomercials as needed.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Must be 21 years of age
- High school diploma or 2 yrs. experience
- Must maintain an Ohio Racing Commission license.
- Read, write legibly, understand and speak English
- Excellent customer service/communication skills
- Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
- Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
