Job Summary
This role will be accountable for supervising plant production activities across multiple shifts and/or departments to produce products that meet established quality, customer service, safety, innovation and cost metrics consistent with schedules and policies. Controls and effectively utilizes the production capacity, manpower and equipment and outside resources through planning, organizing and scheduling to minimize losses; works within the framework of the budget to optimize company profitability.
Input all new P.O’s given into our ERP system
- Order all materials as needed for completion of jobs; document on Gantt chart schedule
- Work with management and product specialist to establish inventory min/max levels
- Ensure all materials are being released to jobs
- Monitor production and ship dates
- Ensure orders are being released in accordance to material availability and capacity
- Adjust staffing hours as needed to meet demands, working with department leads
- Assist with work activities as necessary to maintain the flow of work in the department
- Provide clear direction for daily activities
- Mentor team to grow into areas as they develop
- Monitor P.O.’s pricing accuracy and inform appropriate management of discrepancies
- Provide feedback on where the facility is for efficiency and upcoming work
- Monitor and inform management of delays in materials affecting production schedules
- Communicate status of work in process delays
- Create and maintain reports for employee inaccuracies in production data entry and submit to management for review/discussion with employees.
- Oversee attendance vs. labor hours. Create reports for any inaccuracies with employees
- Ensure quality of products being produced (I.E. fabricated to print specs, bodies meet company quality standards in fit and finish)
- Safely work with paint waste and hazardous waste associated with the paint process.
- Comply with Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous waste procedures.
- Oversee hazardous waste management process.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)Strong aptitude to read blueprints
- Strong aptitude to read blueprints
- Proficient in scheduling shop floor resources
- Proficient in Lean production
Relevant Work Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in a painting and finishing environment
- Has breadth and depth of expertise in a technical or functional area; knowledge of work processes and tools is generally limited to own area of responsibility or department
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
