What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Facilities Services position at Hologic?

Our Facility Services team based in San Diego is responsible for the operation of all contract services and space programming for our West Coast facilities. As a fast-growing, regulated company our facilities teams ensure our buildings are set up for maximum efficiency and the most suitable working environment is created for our employees and their diverse activities.
Think this role is for you?
As the Supervisor of Facility Services, you will manage the facilities contract services, which include: cafeteria and catering operations, vending and break-room, pest control, janitorial, trash and recycling, furniture maintenance, landscaping maintenance, etc.
You will also act as project manager for construction and remodel projects, furniture installations, reconfigurations, employee moves, and relocations.
Key Outcomes:
- Create operating budgets, schedules, bid specifications, and performance requirements for contract service proposals. Coordinate bidding and contractor selection.
- Supervise the space programming process for offices and common areas, working with senior management to resolve space utilization, office configuration, telecommunications, building services, and corporate growth issues.
- Monitor company space utilization and support in strategic space planning.
- Supervise in-house resources, service vendors, outside consultants, and contractors.
- Conduct ergonomic evaluations and implement workstation modifications to resolve ergonomic issues.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of corporate telecommunication systems -telephone and voicemail, communications cabling, cell communications.
Do you have what it takes?
- You have high interpersonal communication skills and anticipate needs before the arise. You are comfortable working and communicating with all levels of management.
- You are skilled at developing space layout designs, space planning, coordinating, and managing systems furniture specifications, installations, and reconfigurations.
- You have supervised contractor selection, office reconfigurations, company relocations, and the activities of facilities service providers (landscaping maintenance, document shredding, janitorial services, cafeteria and catering, etc.)
- You’re able to read and interpret architectural plans and construction documents.
Additional qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or High school graduate, with a minimum of 8 years of facilities-related business experience.
- 6 years of experience in project and contract services management.
- Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required.
- Experience in an operations environment of an FDA-regulated business preferred.
- Tech-savvy, experience with CAD software preferred.
