Job Overview
Holt Construction is seeking a reliable Superintendent to plan/manage/build construction projects and oversee progress from cradle to grave in a timely and cost-effective manner. Provide overall leadership for on-site field administration/supervision and technical management for all construction operations, including direct supervision of foreman, subcontractors, and other construction related personnel. Directing them in planning, coordination and execution of work on time, within budget, attaining or exceeding profit goals, maintaining a safe work place, promoting and enhancing client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Overall management of field operations
- Identify the causes of cost variances and eliminate negative variances
- Identify project risk, and work to mitigate it together with the Project Manager
- Communicate quality standards to each subcontractor and vendor
- Conduct systematic quality control inspections
- Follows company safety program, laws, and OSHA operating standards
- Manages jobsite cleanliness and order
- Reinforce and lead by example on Holt Construction Corp.’s safety culture
- Knowledge of all safety processes and support crew safety best practice
- Project budget review and plans to improve cost/schedule with construction/project manager
- Daily, 2 week and 90 day schedule development and communication
- Track/manage daily quantities and costs – Infield reviews
- Schedule equipment moves and sub-contractors
- Communication with customer/project representatives, AOR/EOR
- Project hand off to set clear expectations detailing aspects of the project that are critical to its success
- Site photographs and photographic catalogue
- Project and resource projection scheduling – 2 week/90 day schedule
- Material Submittals/approvals tracking
- Change order tracking/Estimating
- Weekly project progress and cost reviews with the project management team
- Direct the day-to-day coordination of sub-contractors to ensure they turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule
- Develop, document and communicate the work plan regarding changes made in the field
- Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to be able to plan ahead and anticipate potential problems before they arise
- Verify that the subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes
- Act as primary safety representative in the field and enforce quality control policies
- Lead subcontractor meetings on a regular basis
- Maintain daily reports and documentation using BuildSpace
- Communicate schedule status, updates and changes to Project Team and Trade Contractors
- Plan, coordinate and manage jobsite logistics
Requirements
- Proven working experience in construction field
- Advanced knowledge of construction processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and human resources management skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Minimum of 5 years of field knowledge/experience
- OSHA 30 or better
