Job Summary:
The SVP/CIO of HOLT Group is an executive-level role reporting to the President and owner of HOLT Group. The SVP/CIO is responsible for setting bold and innovative visions for the rapidly growing HOLT family of companies. Developing strategies, leading, and directing the IT business unit departments to enable company business goals and return on investment and to protect the company’s data and information assets. In addition, the SVP-CIO is responsible for shepherding technology modernization through enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives for HOLT. All of this work is to be performed while keeping a detailed, company-focused, and affordable investment strategy.
The CIO establishes overall strategy and vision for software engineering, infrastructure & operations, and enterprise value management through a strategic project portfolio & cross-prioritization, architecture, data, and security management. Leads efficient operation of the IT teams to ensure safe, modernized assets stay current, scalable, and relevant in alignment with enterprise business needs and budgets. These responsibilities will ensure the successful achievement of HOLT’s annual business plans and provide legendary service to internal and external customers.
This person is responsible for balancing daily IT operations, managing stakeholders, collaborating with executive peers, enterprise technology and transformation strategy & communications, promoting, training, and implementing sound technology policies, and procedures, and staffing IT departments with appropriate skills & headcount to deliver appropriate change velocity for the enterprise.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or similar program with 10 years of progressive career growth within IT to include people leadership responsibilities. MBA or advanced education or certifications preferred. 5 years leading large-scale technology modernization, transformation, and ERP implementations.

5 years involving direct supervisory leadership and executive partnership across multi-business-unit companies.

5 years’ experience in the Industrial sector industry preferred. Retail is also a plus.

Proven track record of cutting-edge approaches/thinking in the digital arena. Visionary yet grounded and practical. Familiar with the challenges of transforming/disrupting a traditional “old school” industry.

Prior experience in large contract vendor management and procurement negotiations. Also, hybrid staffing models (onsite, remote, nearshore, offshore, contractors, etc.).

Smart risk taker. Willing to be a disruptor when the case is solid and the opportunity is sizeable.

Effective executor. Can get things done and can implement complex technology projects in a complex global organization.

Effective communicator. Demonstrates strong executive presence and the ability to interact with HOLT executive leadership and outside parties.

- Transformation Experience:
- Ideally at a mid-to-large-sized industrial or retail organization with numerous legal entities. Ideally at a data-driven organization with a ‘purchase vs. build’ software mindset. An executive who has led digital enablement specifically as a technology advisor, beyond just implementation.
- Change management experience is essential regarding both technical as well as cultural aspects of change.

Essential Functions:
- Develop, promote, monitor, and integrate a strategic annual plan for information technologies, and collaborate with business unit leaders for implementation to satisfy the growing needs of all business stakeholders – internal and external.
- Collaborate with executive team members to identify ways IT can enable the company to achieve business and financial goals. Provide executive guidance and vision to the multi-year strategic transformation program and architectural roadmaps as HOLT modernizes our technology and business processes.
- Identify new technology developments; anticipating resulting organizational modifications to stay current. Acts as a change leader when implementing modern methodologies, roles, and approaches (AI, Agile, cloud, product management, power applications, workflow, IoT, machine learning, virtual reality, etc.)
- Develops, implements, monitors, and controls technology budgets, and investments in business transformation, modernization, and value realization.
- Ensure vendor management for procurement (contracts, consulting agreements, statements-of-work), technology sales & service, establish and monitor SLAs (service level agreements), data privacy & security with vendors. Establish solid partnerships of accountability and value delivery. Key vendors include Salesforce, Microsoft, Accenture, Rentalman and 400 other solution providers.
- Collaborate with external OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) like Caterpillar, LinkBelt, Navistar, International, Sullair, JLG, Genie, Bronto, Trimble, etc.) on data integration and software solutions used at over 90 HOLT locations.
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
- Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
- Develop an IT workforce strategy to meet the organization’s current and future needs by effectively incorporating the following across 100 employees:
- Hybrid, on-shore, and off-shore professional staff (employees & contractors)
- Internships – staff pipeline planning
- Culture of inclusiveness, learning, collaboration, and transparency
- Establishing and managing performance expectations & org design
- Mentoring and coaching behaviors in alignment with VBL
- Provide rewarding career paths, effective onboarding, and development
- Establishing a strategic direction for the team
- Effective team communications
- Centralized, decentralized, or hybrid shared services support model(s)
- In partnership with the IT leadership team, continues to mature and refine the disciplines of a well-run IT shop (agile squads, security management, IT solution factory, project management, continuous delivery, ITIL metrics, PCI and PII compliance, SDLC, code quality, LeanIX, Azure Devops, license management, asset libraries, and data storage & efficiency, etc).
- Serves as the Senior Program Sponsor for the Future Ready HOLT (FRH) transformation. In partnership with FRH Center of Excellence and Director – drives the vision and execution of deliverables. Influences and helps manage stakeholders, knock down roadblocks, and mitigate risks on the transformation journey.
- Ensures business value realization and optimization, through delivering new capabilities, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities to add value; Leverages new innovation to increase organizational effectiveness and customer satisfaction by knowing your customer. Building relationships and understanding the industrial sector business.
- Motivates team members and stakeholders to complete tasks on time and with high quality and creativity, building end-to-end great experiences for our customers.
- Identifies and anticipates risks and issues; facilitates resolution, mitigation, and appropriate escalation. Ensures software and data quality security, and resilience through cybersecurity protocols.
- Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
