Essential Job Functions
Responsible for supporting, advocating and maintaining corporate standards for safety, quality and productivity
Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as welders, fabricators and inspectors
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
Observe work and monitor operations to ensure that employees conform to production or processing standards
Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures
Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers
Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
Supports:
General Manager, Operations & Shop Managers, Product Line Managers, Safety Manager
Requirements
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of a High School degree is required upon entry, a 2-year Technical degree or previous apprenticeship schooling is preferred
5-10 years’ experience in heavy steel fabrication and working with ASME codes required
Knowledge of welding required; knowledge of machining processes preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required
Ability to communicate and present information to individuals and groups; ability to listen and respond promptly to others
Organizational and time-management skills to achieve established goals
Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with others, encourage teamwork and cooperation
Leadership skills to coordinate, facilitate, and participate in a collaborative approach to complete tasks and assignments
Ability to read drawings, layouts, and blueprints required
Ability to work in a union environment
Ability to work all shifts

This role can be physically demanding and may require the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
