Project Engineer- STS

Position Summary:                              

The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting in the successful implementation and execution of dry storage projects. The project engineer serves as the primary engineering interface with external parties.

Primary Job Functions:

• Coordinate and perform engineering assignments to fulfill project requirements and achieve target dates
• Assess equipment functionality and operability.
• Assist in preparation of technical reports (Operations and Maintenance Manuals, Purchase Specifications, Load Test Procedures, Equipment Recertification Procedures, etc.)
• Conduct equipment drawing reviews for functionality and operability requirements with the purpose of identifying design change impacts
• Assist design team members with their responsibilities for an accurate and timely execution of project deliverables
• Determine effective implementation methods and strategies based on benefits, risks, and cost
• Maintain files and records of the research and final documentation, including any technical basis and calculations that support procedure writing efforts
• Generate and perform independent technical reviews of operational and loading procedures.
• Work with engineers and fabricators to develop design improvements for existing equipment.
• Identify process improvements for equipment and spare parts tracking
• Other duties as assigned.

General Requirements for Individual:

• Ability to travel between company, vendor, and client sites as required.
• Ability to obtain nuclear plant access as required.
• Excellent attention to detail and capable of producing error-free documents
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent math, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of applied mechanics and heat transfer principles
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work in a timely fashion with minimal supervision
• Prefer Nuclear Experience, but not required
• Prefer E.I.T. Certification, but not required

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline
